Is the BWY the governing body for yoga in the UK and do I have to train with them to get a recognised qualification?
-
If you look at their website it will have a heading ‘BWY is the Sport England recognised National Governing Body for Yoga’ . Being the governing body for Great Britain and being recognised by the Sport England (of all organisations!) as the governing body are two very different things. So the answer is basically, NO, the BWY are NOT the governing body and you do not require to do their training courses to teach yoga.
